It is considered that HWA (febrile) symptom in Oriental- medicine includes the hypertension and cause of arterioselcrosis.
To study the effectiveness on Cheong Sim Hwan(CH), Cheong Sim" Tang (CTA-C) and Ga Mi Cheong Sim Tang(KCTD-E); rabbits ivere used in this experiment´and `the, effectiveness of Cheong Sim .Tang (CTA) - to the normal blood pressure and action. to the TBA level of -liver, inereased by M.. admini s-tration, and, the effectiveness of Cheong Sim Hwan. in TBA=41evel of liver; lipid metabolism and-analgesic "effectiveness. were experimented.
And-further Cheong Sim Tang with .Coptis- japonica Making (CTA),´ fine bran= ches of Coptis japonica Makino (CTB), picrorrhizae Rhizama (CTC), CTA plus Scutellariae Radix (KCTD), and KCTD plus Rhei ´Undulati. Rhizoma (KCTE) we-re comparatively -experimented to the effect in the TBA level of liver.
Following results were obtained on this trial.
1. The effectiveness, in" blood pressure.
The effectiveness in normal blood pressure by administration Cheong Sim Tang (CTA) was increased by increasing the dosages ´of medicine but showed transient decreasing of the blood pressure.
2. The effectiveness in TBA level of liver,
Cheong Sim Hwan (CH) showed significant values in the TBA level, but Cheong Sim Tang (CTA, CTB, CTC, KCTD, and KCTA) showed similar effectiveness.
KCTD showed combined actions but KCTE did not reveal any combined action.
3. The effectiveness of lipid metabolism.
1) By administration Cheong Sim Hwan (CH), . total cholesterol in serum increased by cholesterol administration was decreased rapidly than the control group.
2) Total -serum triglyceride dropped nearly toy normal level like that of that. of total cholesterol.
3) Serum phospholipid showed higher level at the beginning than the control group but later decreased rapidly with significant values.
4) Serum -lipoprotein was slightly and, rapidly decreased but it didn´t show any significant value until 22nd day and decreased very significantly from 26th day.
4. The analgesic effectiveness
Analgesic effectiveness changed by the dosages of Cheong Sim Hwan(CH) and revealed highly significant values.
By the above experimental resultk, it is suggested thet these. herbal medlcine would be highly applicable to cerebrovascular accident, hypertension. arteriosclerosis, hyper-lipidosis and pain.
And it is still considered that the conception of HWA reducing action(* AfFA) in Oriental medicine is mutually related to the conception with dropping high blood pressuse into normotension.
